What each LinkedIn plan and each alternative charges for, how the charge is structured, and where each one stops paying for itself. Figures are approximate US list price ranges gathered in 2026.
Read before using any figure. Prices below are approximate ranges, not quotes. They are US list prices, they differ by country and currency, they change between monthly and annual billing, they may exclude sales tax or VAT, and new and existing subscribers have sometimes been shown different amounts. The vendor's own pricing page, linked in the last column, is the only reliable source for what you would pay.
| Product or plan | Built for | How it is charged | Approx. US list range, monthly billing | What the fee pays for | Where it stops being useful | Vendor pricing page |

| LinkedIn plans | ||||||
| LinkedIn basic account | Anyone | No charge | US$0 | Profile, connections, messaging with connections, job search and applications, posting. | Messaging people outside your network and seeing full profile view history are limited. | premium.linkedin.com |
| Premium Career | Job seekers | Per person subscription | About US$30 to 40 | A small monthly allowance of InMail, profile viewer history, applicant insights on listings, LinkedIn Learning access. | Once you are not actively applying, most of what it adds goes unused. | premium.linkedin.com |
| Premium Business | Networkers, founders, consultants | Per person subscription | About US$60 to 70 | More InMail than Career, broader profile browsing, company insights, LinkedIn Learning. | For structured selling, it lacks the lead lists and CRM links of Sales Navigator. | premium.linkedin.com |
| Sales Navigator Core | Individual sellers | Per seat; cheaper per month on annual billing | About US$100 to 120 | Advanced lead and account filters, saved lead lists, alerts, a larger InMail allowance. | Reaching people who keep sparse or outdated profiles; exporting contact data in bulk is not what it is built for. | Sales Navigator compare plans |
| Sales Navigator Advanced | Sales teams | Per seat, team billing | About US$150 to 160 | Core features plus team sharing and seat management; CRM links on higher tiers. | Solo sellers pay for collaboration features they do not use. | Sales Navigator compare plans |
| Recruiter Lite | Small hiring teams, independent recruiters | Per seat subscription | About US$170 to 180 | Recruiter style search filters, InMail for candidates, candidate projects. | High volume hiring or large teams, which are pointed to the full Recruiter product on quoted pricing. | premium.linkedin.com |
| Alternatives, by what they replace | ||||||
| Indeed, employer side | Employers posting roles | Budget you set for sponsored listings; basic listings can be free in some markets | Varies with your budget | Visibility for job ads among active job seekers. | Spend can climb for competitive roles, and it does little for reaching people who are not searching. | indeed.com/hire/pricing |
| Apollo.io | Sales prospecting | Free tier plus per user paid tiers with credit limits | See vendor page | Contact database, email sequences, basic enrichment. | Where its contact data is out of date, and where local rules restrict cold email. | apollo.io/pricing |
| Coursera Plus | Learners | Subscription, monthly or annual | See vendor page | Access to a large catalogue of structured courses and certificates. | Degree programmes and some courses sit outside the subscription; long courses suit slow, planned study more than quick refreshers. | coursera.org/courseraplus |
| Upwork | Freelancers and clients | Service fees on earnings, paid Connects to bid, optional membership | See vendor page | Access to posted projects, contracts and payment protection features. | Fees reduce margins, and client relationships sit inside the marketplace's terms. | upwork.com/pricing |
| Wellfound | Startup job seekers and employers | Free for job seekers; paid employer plans | See vendor page | Startup listings, often with salary and equity shown. | Roles at large or traditional employers are thin on the platform. | wellfound.com |
| Professionals in German speaking markets | Free basic account; paid membership options | See vendor page | Jobs and profiles focused on Germany, Austria and Switzerland. | Outside those markets its coverage is limited. | xing.com | |
In 2026 the same LinkedIn plan can show different amounts depending on where you are, whether you pay monthly or yearly, whether you are a new subscriber, and whether a trial or promotion applies. Alternatives often charge on different units altogether: per click, per credit, per course, or as a percentage of earnings. Putting a LinkedIn subscription next to an Upwork fee or an Indeed budget compares different things.
A fairer comparison is to decide which single function you need, then total up a year of cost for that function only.
Illustrative, not a measurement. Bars show approximate US list price ranges on monthly billing, compiled from publicly listed prices seen in 2026. Actual prices vary by country, billing period, tax and subscriber status. Check the vendor's pricing page.
Paying yearly usually lowers the monthly equivalent. The discount size differs by plan, so compare the yearly total, not just the monthly figure.
Free trials have been offered on several LinkedIn plans. Eligibility varies, a card is usually required, and a trial converts to a paid plan unless cancelled.
Listed prices may exclude VAT, GST or sales tax, and local currency prices are set separately rather than converted.
Credits, Connects and per click budgets make monthly cost depend on how much you use. Set a cap if the tool allows it.
